Woodland trail at Polesden Lacey

Yesterday I told you about the gardens at Polesden Lacey. Before I got to the gardens the Junior JibberJabbers were keen to go on the woodland trail – the promise of yet another Easter egg at the end was spurring them on!
Each of the answers on the trail was an animal, bird, fish or insect that laid its eggs in an different way. There were three clues for each of the creatures before the great reveal!
Throughout the woodlands at this time of year are clumps of wild primroses.
There are plenty of places for bugs and insects to live but a rather swish bug hotel helps them feel at home.
A fine selection of feeders encourages the birds. For the brief moment we were there blue tits, chaffinches and nuthatches came for a visit.
Of course if you do go into the woods there's always one thing you have to watch out for – a Gruffalo who can't keep still!

  3. I love your little Gruffalo, he looks very at home there in the woods and what a great place it is to explore. I've pinned that Bug Hotel, I'm trying to design one here for Coombe Mill. thank you for sharing your woodland adventure on Country Kids.
