It was a trip back in television history for last week's Sunday Snap with one of the buildings used in Heartbeat. With its North Yorkshire Moors setting complete with functioning steam train the answer of its location is
Goathland
The telly addicts award this
week is shared between Queen Boudica and Erica who both
got the answer right.
On to this week's picture
and it is one of the The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. Built in 1971
it stands adjacent to the Victorian Lyceum Theatre. Its name refers
to a type of steel that was developed in Sheffield in the 18th
century by heating various metals in types of pots known as
crucibles. This weekend sees the start of the annual World Snooker
Championships which for many years has been held at The Crucible.
Before the Championships found their permanent home in Sheffield it
was held in various locations including one year in the back room of
a Nottingham pub. Despite various suggestions of the Championships
being moved to a different location over the years (the latest is to
China) Sheffield remains its spiritual home. Listen out to references
on the BBC coverage to the 'knowledgeable Sheffield crowd' and poems
mentioning 'the Steel City'. So this week's question is
When did the World Snooker
Championships move to The Crucible Theatre?
We were joined last week by
Cheryl
and some Madhouse feeding of the elephants. Meanwhile Candace
was showing off her boots in the sunshine.
