Love Cake April 2017 round up

We've had a quiet month for our theme of It was all yellow but I hope you all had a nice Easter break. The big yellow thing in the sky has made an appearance here so it's the perfect time to run through our yellow themed bakes for the month. By coincidence they are both gluten free this month so let's enjoy our wheat free cakes.
There are certain times of the year when you should push the boat out when it comes to cake making. Easter is one of these times and the use of chocolate eggs is compulsory! Kate from The Gluten Free Alchemist has used her trusty chocolate cake recipe as the base for a Gluten Free Rich and Chocolately Golden Egg Cake. With chocolate cigarillos running round the outside, a thick layer of chocolate ganache covering the top and a vanilla buttercream filling this is one showstopper of a cake. The luxurious feel of the cake is finished off with a selection of golden mini eggs.
I went for the yellow of lemon and a Gluten Free Lemon and Yogurt Cake. I made it for a bake sale and it went down a storm. The yogurt gives it the extra liquid needed with gluten free flour and a bit of extra whisking gave it the necessary rise.

I'll be back in a couple of days with May's theme where we won't be going round or getting square!

  1. Can't believe I missed this again last month. Love Cake is one of my "must do" linkies. Will try and get something sorted this month. It's been a while since I last used my bundt.
