Sunday Snap - The Waterfall

Things went momentarily dark for last week's Sunday Snap of the solar eclipse. It was the last total solar eclipse that will be visible in the UK until 2090. The next European total solar eclipse will be in 2026. I have on good authority that the best places to experience it are Iceland and northern Spain. However the next total solar is actually in

2016

Yes, just next year on 9th March but to see it you will need to travel to Sumatra, Borneo or Sulawesi. Anyone fancy a Pacific adventure?

For this week I've dug into the pre-digital SLR archives. We visited this waterfall whilst on an Easter trip that took us over to the Lake District, up to Glasgow and then back down through Tyneside. It was while we were in Cumbria that we stopped off at this National Trust estate. The drop at this part of the waterfall is around 20m. The poet William Wordsworth was so inspired by this waterfall that he mentions in three of his poems including The Somnambulist. So this week's question is

What is the name of this waterfall?

Last week we had a lovely selection of photographs being linked up. Emma has been to see the sharks at the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham (I love sharks by the way!). We were must definitely not home alone with Merlinda! There was trip to the seaside at South Shields and Herd Groyne lighthouse for Karen. It was over to New Zealand next for a visit to the Great Manawatu Steam Fair. And finally I challenge you to find a more atmospheric shot of the solar eclipse than Leyla's.
