Alternative Christmas Gift Guide for Tweens

Is your house already groaning under the weight of toys and computers? Are you dreading Christmas with your tweens and wondering what else will arrive to fill the living rooms and bedrooms? Here's the JibberJabberUK guide to alternative Christmas gifts without a toy, computer, console or app in sight.
Time-Turner – We're big Harry Potter fans here so this Time-Turner would be perfect for any Hermonine Grainger wannabes. I'm not sure many children would want to use them to attend extra classes though! You can also find jewellery for other famous book and TV items.
Trivial Pursuit – Test your knowledge with this Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit. It's small enough to pack up for travel so great for journeys as well. If you're not Harry Potter fans there's also Doctor Who, Big Bang Theory, James Bond, Dinosaurs, Wildlife and many more editions.
Horrible Histories BrainBox – If history is more your thing try the Horrible Histories games. No prior knowledge is needed as you pick a card, study the question and answers and then roll the dice. Without looking you answer the question corresponding to your dice roll. A fun way to learn history. There's lots of editions including Awful Ancients, Vile Villains, Blood and Guts, Kings and Queens, World History and British History.
Keyrings – My two love keyrings for attaching them to school book bags, rucksacks and PE bags. One day they may even put some keys on them. Choose their favourite Lego character or go fabulous with a bling crystal letter. A great little stocking filler or present for their friends.
Top Model – Got a potential fashion designer or make-up artist in the house? Give them some inspiration from the Top Model range of books.
Colouring books – Until a couple of years ago colouring books were just for young children. Now that has all changed with adult colouring books but they are still suitable for children. There's this Harry Potter Colouring Book but also available is Doctor Who, Alice in Wonderland, Game of Thrones, Tolkein's World and Sherlock Holmes.
Children's Baking Book – I love cookbooks but it can be hard to get children interested in cooking. Usborne have put together The Children's Book of Baking Bread and I can vouch for the simplicity of the recipes. If bread is not your thing there's a cake version as well.
Wall Stickers – If you have no more room on the bookcases, in drawers and fed up of stuff on the floor then utilise the wall space. My two obviously have Harry Potter and Doctor Who wall stickers but the choice is huge and you can make your own design.

Are you stuck for presents for tweens? What's on your children's Christmas wish lists?
