Many of you will have
realised by now I take a lot of photographs. Everywhere I go if
something catches my eye I take a photograph of it. Sometimes it
makes an appearance on the blog and other times it is saved on a
memory stick never to be viewed again. I expect many people have
precious photographs that deserve to be looked and smiled at rather
than being forgotten. With this in mind I was happy to put together a
photo book for SuperPhoto.
I've never had a photobook
made before so I have nothing to compare it to. As I was part of the
testing team I can't comment on the speed of delivery as we had to
wait for the systems to be finalised.
My photobook was the
landscape 20cm x 15cm priced at £9.99. Standard shipping is £3.99. For
this you get a glossy cover with full photograph and text, back cover
photograph plus 24 inside pages. The book can be increased up to 150
pages with extra pages costing 65p each.
I used to do a lot of paper
scrapbooking with photographs so I pleased at the wide choice of
themes and layouts available. As I chose to document our day at
Bamburgh beach I used a background similar to sand. There are stacks
I could have picked. Also there are other little features such as
drawing pins and photo corners.
I found my way round the
site quite easily but I am used to using sites such as PicMonkey. If
you haven't used such a site before it may baffle you a bit in terms
of where all the features are. I don't deny it is a time consuming
process but that's because you need to work how you want your
photographs laid out and in what order. You can also add text to the
pages but I knew if I started writing I would never finish the
photobook. Thankfully you can save your work in progress and go back
later to finish it off.
One thing I will say is that
all my photographs were taken on a DSLR and on such a sunny day I was
able to shoot on ISO 100. If you take your photographs on your mobile
phone I'm not sure they will come out particularly well in terms of
quality and pixelation. As I said before I haven't seen other
photobooks but the prices I have seen for other companies seem to be
far higher. I can see photobooks like this being a very popular
option this Christmas.
Have you ever had a
photobook made?
I was sent a photobook
from SuperPhoto for review purposes. All words, opinions and
photographs are my own.
I made a photobook a few years ago for my hubs of his younger sisters and it was so much fun to do x
