If you're a
blogger or journalist then you usually get at least one email a day
giving you details of yet another 'national day'. Most are random and
obscure but one I can really show some enthusiasm for is World
Nutella Day. Back in 2007 an American blogger by the name of Sara
Russo decided to celebrate her love of this chocolate and hazelnut
spread by creating a whole day, February 5th, devoted to it. In 2015 the day itself
started to be organised by Nutella themselves so it is now bigger
than ever.
In most
cases where Nutella is used the treatment of it is very simple –
it's usually just spread on bread or pancakes. With this mind this is
a very simple recipe with minimal ingredients; in fact just three.
Unlike a standard chocolate cake the hazelnuts in Nutella really
standout and make a difference to the flavour.
Equipment:
7in (18cm) x 11in (28cm) Baking tin
lined, large bowl, electric whisk/beaters
Ingredients
8½oz
(240g) Nutella or chocolate and hazelnut spread
2
Eggs
4oz
(115g) Plain flour
Method
Pre-heat
the oven to 180°C/Gas
mark.
In
a large bowl put all the ingredients and beat together until well
mixed.
Transfer
to the prepared tin and bake for 20 minutes.
Leave
to cool in the tin before cooling.
So simple, I am going to give it a go, thanks!
