The trip to a snowy Peak
District stumped everyone for last week's Sunday Snap. The photograph was taken at the back of the Chatsworth
Estate Farm Shop and overlooks the land surrounding Chatsworth House,
the ancestral home of the Dukes of Devonshire. Many of the past Dukes
are buried in the church which is
St. Peter's Church, Edensor
Since this weekend marks the
50th anniversary of the death of Sir Winston Churchill I
thought I would have a dig through the archives for something
suitable. The unassuming building pictured above is of part of the building that houses
Churchill's art studio. For much of his life Churchill suffered from
clinical depression or his 'black dog' as he referred to it. For the
record he was actually a cat lover. He used painting as a therapy and
had this studio at his beloved family home. Churchill was such
accomplished painter that after submitting some works to Royal
Academy under a pseudonym they were accepted. This week's question is
Where is Churchill's art
studio located?
Once again last week we were
joined by Leyla from This day I love... and a tale of a day of two extremes – a trip to
the dentist and a birthday date night!
