Many thanks to everyone who commented on last week's Sunday Snap. Sadly none of you were able to guess the location of the Pier at sunset. It is not in fact your typical English seaside pier. I did give you a clue on Monday by saying I had visited Cardiff Bay as it is in fact Penarth Pier. Situated just round from Cardiff Bay it has had extensive refurbishment in recent years and was voted Pier of the Year 2014 by the National Piers Society. If you are into dashing young footballers it was also featured on the BT Sport advert this summer starring Cardiff born Gareth Bale.
On to this week's Sunday
Snap. It doesn't need much explanation as to why I took this
photograph. Coastal scene, setting sun reflecting on the sea, moody
clouds. Tick, tick, tick. What was also noticeable about the clouds
is above the castle there seems to be another castle formed by
clouds. Some people are able to see faces, shapes wherever they go
and look. All I say is the beauty and unpredictability of nature
means that no day is ever the same and no scene can ever be captured
twice.
So an easier question for
you this week – what castle is featured in this photograph?
That is a beautiful shot, like one of those prints you buy to hang on your wall x
ReplyDeleteThank you! We've been trying to decide which photo to have made into a canvas for our bedroom.
DeleteI am quite envious of that shot, definitely something I need to work on.
ReplyDeleteI always knew that GCSE in Photography I took 20 years ago would come in useful one day!
DeleteThis photo is perfect! I have been trying to get better at taking photos and I can only wish that one day I'll take a snap as good as this one! x
ReplyDeleteThank you! I learnt how to use a SLR camera when I was at school. I never leave the camera on auto so I can the set the aperture myself.
DeleteGorgeous photo - no idea where it is though x
ReplyDeleteThanks! The light was just right on this particular evening.
DeleteI have no idea where it is, but it is a great shot x
ReplyDeleteThanks! I had already taken several snaps and then turned around and saw this.
DeleteI have no idea which castle it is but its a beautiful photo - the colours are spectacular
ReplyDeleteI just managed to capture it before the sun went down completely.
DeleteGreat photo, loving the reflection
ReplyDeleteThe sun sets on the right side of this coast. Just perfect for photos.
Deletegorgeous photo x
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've been trying to photograph something like this for ages.
DeleteGorgeous sunset but no idea where it is.
ReplyDeleteThe light is so perfect in this part of the country so the sunsets are so good.
DeleteWhat a stunning picture. I would love that on my wall
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking of having it put on a canvas but we've a couple to chose from.
DeleteGorgeous photo - is it somewhere in Jersey? Look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNot Jersey but I have been to the castle you have in mind.
