The Month Ahead - June 2018

Welcome to June's The Month Ahead. Summer is truly upon us now. Let's have a look at some of the traditional feasts and festivals, events and exhibitions that are happening around the UK this month.

2^nd-3^rd June - Basingstoke Kite Festival. The skies of Hampshire will be filled with the sight of hundreds of colourful kites.

2^nd-3^rd June - Torbay Air Show. A free to watch air show over the Devon bay. Watch a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the daring wing walkers.

5^th-10^th June - Cheltenham Science Festival. The latest in the Gloucestershire town's festivals examines all that is scientific. Join in with debates, listen to expert speakers and conduct some experiments.

6^th-10^th June - RHS Chatsworth Flower Show. The RHS summer shows moves onto Derbyshire and the grounds of the stately home of the Duke of Devonshire.

15^th-24^th - Golowan Fesitval, Penzance. Cornwall gears itself up for its annual midsummer celebrations. A week of events culminates in Mazey Day on the 23^rd June with a series of parades.

15^th-17^th June - Eroica Britannia, Derbyshire. The Peak District welcomes back this mix of cycling and music with a vintage twist.

16^th-17^th June – DogFest, Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire. Canine lovers join together with their pooches for everything dog related.

16^th-17^th June - Marlow Town Regatta. Competitive rowing comes to Marlow for the 18^th year. Dress in your best clothes for one of the social events of the year. In the evening there is top class music entertainment.

21^st-24^th June - Isle of Wight Festival. The music festival that began them all returns for a 50^th anniversary celebration. Headline acts include Liam Gallagher and The Killers.

From 24^th June – GoGoHares, Norwich and throughout Norfolk. Go on hunt around Norwich to find over 50 hare sculptures positioned around the city. Another 15 will be located around the county.
