This weekend we took on the Rustlers Burger Hacking Challenge with their Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burger Twin Pack. With just a minute and half to cook each burger in the microwave it gave us plenty of time put together some sides. Mr JibberJabber prepared the homemade chips with potatoes from our allotment. A sprinkling of celery salt on them really adds to their flavour.
I got together the ingredients needed for our winter coleslaw. It gives a special touch to a meal. Our food processor has a grater blade so prepping the ingredients is very quick. After that it is just a case of mixing in the celery salt and soured cream before serving up.
Ingredients
¼ of a whole White cabbage
1 Red onion
2 Carrots
½ tsp (2.5ml) Celery salt
150ml Soured cream
Method
1. Shred or grate the cabbage, red onion and carrots into a bowl and mix together.
2. Add the celery salt and soured cream and stir well
3. Serve up!
As for burger toppings I went for slices of creamy avocado. This went perfectly with the southern fried coating. The others went classic with lettuce and tomato. With little effort we had meal in no time. It wasn't long either before all the plates were empty!Have you tried the Rustlers Burger Hacking Challenge? How do you like to dress up your burgers?
