The Month Ahead - July 2018

Welcome to June's The Month Ahead. We are full into summer now. The schools will be breaking up for the long summer holidays this month so there's plenty of planning to do. Let's have a look at some of the traditional feasts and festivals, events and exhibitions that are happening around the UK this month.

1^st-31^st July - Bristol Shakespeare Festival. See the Bard's works performed all around the city in outdoor spaces and unusual spaces.

1^st July - Berkshire Motor Show, Reading. Fans of all things motorised will enjoy the range of vehicles on display. There will be trophies for best 4x4, classic, customised, plus motor bike and HGV.

6^th-7^th July - Rock Oyster Festival, Cornwall. A family based festival with food, music and children's activities such as circus workshops, plays and kids yoga.

6^th-22^nd July - Buxton International Festival, Derbyshire. A sophicated mixture of opera, music and books fills Buxton for three weeks.

7^th July - National Meadows Day, around the country. A celebration of meadows and grasslands whether it is in the country, urban areas or your own local space. Look out for events in your area.

7^th-8^th July - Woodhall Spa 1940's Festival, Lincolnshire. The whole of this village goes back to the 1940's for a weekend of wartime nostalgia. Dress up and enjoy stepping back in time.

7^th-15^th July - Hythe Festival, Kent. The seaside town showcases the best in local culture for a week long arts and heritage festival.

18^th-22^nd July - RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. The RHS summer shows moves onto Tatton Park in Cheshire. Look out for The Poisonous Garden.

21^st-22^nd July - Farnborough International Airshow. The premier airshow in the UK with over 150 aircraft and five hours of flying. Not to be missed is a display by the world famous Red Arrows.

26^th-29^th July - Warwick Folk Festival. A style of folk music for everyone whether you like traditional or contemporary folk music.

28^th July - Norwich Pride. Returning for its tenth year the city centre will be filled with celebrations of diversity plus the parade.
