A Victorian philanthropist
by the name of Salt and a Yorkshire model village – there could
only be one answer to last week's Sunday Snap of The Mill. The name of the mill in the photograph is Salts
or Salt's Mill (both spellings are listed by UNESCO to the dismay of
this apostrophe pedant.) Its location is in the village of
Saltaire
Onto this week and I shall
reveal to you one of my favourite television programmes. Heartbeat
ran from 1992 to 2010 when ITV cancelled it without ever finishing
the storylines! Like any self-respecting fan I read the original
books and visited the locations where they filmed it. The above photo
is of Scripps' garage set in the fictional village of Aidensfield.
I've been a couple of times but the best way to arrive is on the
still functioning steam train on the North York Moors Railway. So
this week's question is
What is the name of the
real-life village where Heartbeat is set?
Joining in last was Merlinda
and a very graceful swan. A Frozen birthday cake and a lot of
candles to blow out from Cheryl.
Is a real person or is a statue? Find out
about Wairaka on Betty's
New Zealand blog.
